Memorial benches
Why not buy a beautiful memorial bench from Bromley Council and have it fixed in either Alexandra Recreation Ground or Cator Park?
You can have a metal plaque attached to the bench with words of your choice in memory of your loved one.
It would be great to see more of these in our two parks.
Kelsey Park has a plethora of them, so why not grace our two wonderful local parks in the same way?
Some of the memorial benches:
- one in the play area of Alexandra Recreation Ground in memory of Jane O'Shaughnessy who died in 1993 at the age of eighteen. A local resident, Jane experienced many happy hours playing in Alexandra Recreation Ground as a small child.
- one in Alexandra Recreation Ground in memory of Makayah McDermott and Rosie Cooper, victims of the Lennard Road car crash in August 2017.
Alternatively, if you are a business organisation, why not buy a bench on behalf of your company and have it fixed in either park?
You may have noticed the two beautiful benches in both parks with the metal plaques citing 'donated by Friends of Cator and Alexandra'. These give an idea of what your memorial bench could be like.
If you are interested in purchasing a memorial bench please contact id verde via their webpage. They will explain the procedure, the facts and the figures. Each bench is fixed firmly to a laid brick surface and we understand that the Council contributes to a percentage of the overall cost.
